Kids should of had an early night but think they're a bit hyper so not quite gone to plan but hopefully they'll sleep on the plane. I'm off for a nice soak, wont be in bed for a while yet but think I'm jus as hyped up as the kids. Carry on crafting and promise to take some piccies. TTFN

Off on my Holiday!

Just had to pop in and say bye to all my crafting buddies before we head off to Disneyorld, Monday morning. I'm up to my eyes in clothes at the moment and felt a short break was in order, think its Pre Holiday Stress (LOL). Thankyou to everyone who sent Zoe Birthday Wishes, she had a lovely day and I still need to sort her pressies, they're piled up in her bedroom at the moment. Thought I'd still be crafting this week but had no time to spare so have not been able to blog anything or visit any forums, sorry peeps but will play catch up when I get back. Wasn't intentional but everyday I've been out doing something or other and now its all rush to get packed and the house back in some sort of order.
Today we visited another school for Daniel, its a mainstream school with a special needs unit attached. Daniel would be able to mix in with mainstream classes whenever he wished if he felt comfortable. Anyway, we spoke to someone at the Local Education Authority this afternoon and it has been sorted today and when they return on the 3rd Sept, Daniel will be attending the new school for a 3 week trial and if all goes well, he will remain there and not return to his current school. We haven't told him this yet as we thought we'd let him enjoy the holiday first. I'm sure he will be fine and its one less school run for me as the LEA will be transporting him everyday! Anyway, must get on, still lots to do and am trying to reduce the amount I've got going in my suitcase, hubby cant understand why I need so much but I think thats just how we women are!!! Will be thinking of my friends in while I'm DisneyWorld, wonder what challenges I'll be missing!!!!!

Spoonful of Sugar Challenge

Made a bookmark this week for this weeks challenge at "Spoonful of Sugar" which is boys. I stamped Hamish and coloured with Prisma Pencils and Sansodor. I then masked Hamish and used my field of sky stamp with blue and red ink. The wording is from stamp addicts. I then added a border around the bookmark and made some holes at the top with my cropodile, ripped them and added Fired Brick Distress Ink around all the edges to finish. I dont know why the picture is a bit distorted, everyone I've taken today seems to be the same, but its alot better in real life, honest. Daniel and his Dad have just set off for their long journey back to Hampshire, Daniel will be boarding overnight at the special needs school as part of his trial, kentucky fried chicken and ice cream for dinner followed by a fry up in the morning, hubby will be sitting in a hotel room working while I intent to enjoy a few hours!! Have a good weekend.

RAK ATC

Was just playing around the other night as I couldn't think of anything especially to make so started by stamping 1 eye and the mouth from "Rubber Stampede". I then coloured around with chalk inks to make a face outline and glazed the lips with a clear sakura pen. Finished of by adding "Do you Like My Pout?" made with my Dymo and this is the result. Sometimes I work better by not planning!!

Friday Sketcher/My Wedding Anniversary

Today I am celebrating my 14th Wedding Anniversary and have used this weeks sketch over at Friday Sketchers top make a card for my husband. Its been pouring with rain here today but we had glorious weather on our wedding day and it went without a hitch. Think this is the 1st card I've ever made for my husband but think he'll appreciate it!. I used 2 backing papers and my nestabilities for the sketch. I coloured a horses head with Copic Markers and glazed with a clear Sakura pen. The wall which is also from the same Woodcare Set was coloured again with copics and have added a few flowers to the wall. The bird is Magnolia and when clearing my craft room a couple of weeks ago, I found my Dymo Letratag so have used this to add the sentiment to the front. Hope your weathers better than ours, even got the heating on!

Daniels School Friend

Daniel doesn't get many party invites but there is another boy in his year that also has Aspbergers and on Friday he was invited to Ethans birthday party at an indoor play centre. I must admit, I dont normally make handmade cards for the school children but Daniel loves handmade cards so thought I'd make the effort. I used the Rocket Backing Paper from "Basic Grey" and used my "Monkey Tails ALphabet" on my Bigshot. The images are from "Crafters Companion", I stamped with an Adirondaak Inkpad and coloured with Copic Markers. Done a matching insert with my "Crafters Companion, Boys and Girls CD" as they have "space" on the disc and am pleased with the finished result as i dont do many childrens cards although I should as I have 3 myself. Talking of kids and birthdays, my Zoe will be 6 next week and Jessica will be 13 the week after, but we will be spending her birthday in Disneyland and I think my hubby has hired a limo for the evening so we can celebrate her becoming a teenager. Less than 2 weeks and were off!!!!

Daring Cardmaker Challenge

This weeks chalenge over at Daring Cardmaker is Brrr....Freezing. I used a blue background for this as its quite a cold colour and fits on with the challenge. The bauble stamp is from "Autumn Leaves and has been coloured with "Mica Watercolour Paint". Have added a sentiment and a border to finish.

Artistic Stamper Challenge

This over at the Artistic Stamper, the challlenge is to make a piece based on Christmas. Wasn't sure what I was doing at the time but just got a small canvas and coloured the background with red & green distress inks and stamped the tree over the top. I then masked the tree and stamped over in a deeper red and done some sponging on the canvas as well. I edged the canvas with gold krylon pen and a green dabber. The wording on the stamped tree was gone over with a crystal lacquer pen, another piece of stash wich I dont really use but they resurfaced last week so put them to use. Finished it off by adding mini grungeboard elements painted with a gold and green dabber. Hope you like my piece, the photo never seems to come out as good as I would like and it is more red than orange.

Our Creative Corner Challenge

A new chellenge site HERE. This weeks theme is Basic Grey. Me and my good crafting buddie decided the other night to craft online together so we both took inspiration from blogs and adapted the card they way we wanted. This is my effort for the challenge. The papers are Basic Grey "Two Scoops", Tilda, coloured with Copic Markers, "Technique Tuesday" stamps and the wording is "Tim Holtz. Enjoyed making this although it took a bit longer but happy with the finished product!
Apparently we still have no electricity and a large generator has been put in at the end of the road. Power came back after about 4 hours, just hope the generator doesn't break down too!

One Powerful Hour Challenge

There is a new challenge site called "OnePowerfulHour", where you have to make a card within the time and this week they start with an open theme. I distressed this card with Distress Ink Pads and stamped the crackle down the side. Have tinted a piece of stampboard and stamped image from B Line Deisgns, added a few rubons, and a border stamp.
Last night we had a power cut about 10pm. Amazing how dependent we are on electricity, everything I wanted to do or needed revolved around a light or power socket so was unable to get on my computer or do any crafting but alls back to normal today. Looks like its going to be a scrorcher here today.
